The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad hosted an “Arts Entrepreneurship Showcase” at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), bringing together artists, designers, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders to highlight the role of creative industries in economic growth and stronger Pakistan-U.S. relations.

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker and renowned Pakistani fashion designer HSY were among the key speakers at the event, which was moderated by broadcaster and filmmaker Tauseeq Haider.

Held as part of the U.S. “Freedom 250” initiative marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, the showcase featured an entrepreneurship lecture, an alumni arts marketplace highlighting the work of 20 Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) members, and a fashion runway celebrating 250 years of American design, culture and textile innovation.

Speaking at the event, CDA Baker highlighted the strong connections between the Pakistani and American textile industries. She said Pakistani exports of finished apparel and clothing products to the United States have averaged more than $4 billion annually over the past five years.

She also noted that Pakistan imports significant quantities of U.S. cotton, underscoring the interconnected nature of the two countries’ textile supply chains.

Baker emphasized the U.S. commitment to creative entrepreneurship, describing the arts and creative industries as important drivers of economic opportunity, innovation and international connections.

The evening concluded with a fashion runway showcasing 250 years of American fashion, textiles, design and cultural storytelling, offering a visual celebration of American creative heritage.
