A District Orientation Session under the Pakistan Women Leaders (PWL) Project was held in Rawalpindi by the Social Development and Development Organization (SSDO), in collaboration with TDEA, UN Women, and the European Union (EU).
The session was attended by representatives from political parties, civil society organizations, bar associations, media, and other relevant institutions. The orientation aimed to create awareness about the PWL Project and highlight opportunities available for women to strengthen their leadership skills and participate more effectively in political, social, and decision-making processes.
Addressing the participants, the SSDO representative welcomed the attendees and briefly highlighted the organization’s work and contribution to the social and development sectors. The importance of women’s participation in leadership and decision-making was emphasized, with speakers noting that sustainable social development requires greater inclusion of women.

Participants were briefed about the objectives, activities, and opportunities offered under the Pakistan Women Leaders Project. The 34-month program is being implemented across 57 districts of Pakistan and will provide women with opportunities through leadership training sessions, boot camps, mentorship, and other capacity-building activities.
A practical demonstration of the PWL online application process was also conducted. Participants were guided through the different stages of the online portal, including completing the application form, providing the required information, and successfully submitting an application.
The participants also raised questions regarding eligibility criteria, application procedures, nomination and selection processes, and women’s participation in political and social activities. The questions were addressed by the organizers, who provided the necessary guidance and clarification.
Participants appreciated the Pakistan Women Leaders Project as an important initiative for creating greater leadership opportunities for women. They stressed the need for political parties, civil society organizations, media, bar associations, and other institutions to share information about the program within their networks and communities so that eligible and talented women can benefit from the initiative.
