Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a vibrant program reflecting patriotism, unity, creativity, and student talent. The celebration was organized by the Student Affairs Office through weeks of dedicated planning and collaboration.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, various competitions, including Speech, Poetry, Mili Nagma, Poster Making, Pledge Ceremony, and Made in Pakistan Prototype, were organized. The winners presented their performances and received certificates. The Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the Mentoring Program for Universities was also held.
The celebrations began with a Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Tree Plantation, led by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, TI). The ceremony was followed by cultural performances and an inspiring address by the Vice Chancellor.
In her address, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that “Independence is both a gift and a responsibility.” She highlighted FJWU’s commitment, as Pakistan’s first women’s university, to empowering women, nurturing talent, and contributing towards a stronger and progressive Pakistan.
The event was graced by Madam Tehseen Fawad, MPA Punjab Assembly and Member Syndicate, along with Pro ViceChancellor,Deans, Chairpersons, faculty members, staff, students, and children, whose presence added warmth and joy to the celebrations.
The event concluded with a Cake Cutting Ceremony and tea. A heartfelt tribute was also paid to all student societies for their dedication, creativity, teamwork, and valuable contribution to the success of the celebrations.
The program ended with a Dua for the safety of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, peace and prosperity of Pakistan, and compassion for those facing hardships around the world.
