While British and Irish citizens are exempt from the ETA requirement, the government has strongly advised dual British nationals to ensure they travel with a valid UK passport or Certificate of Entitlement after February 25, 2026. Transport operators may otherwise be unable to verify citizenship status, potentially leading to delays or denied boarding.
