RAWALPINDI: A meeting was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) conference room to address issues in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme. The meeting was chaired by the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza.
The DG emphasized the urgent need to resolve water supply issues affecting the residents of Gulraiz Housing Scheme. She directed the Managing Director WASA to install tubewells in the area as a sustainable solution. This directive aligns with the orders of the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated zero tolerance for delays in addressing water-related problems across Rawalpindi.
The DG RDA further directed the MD WASA to assess the feasibility of rainwater harvesting as a potential solution in the area.
In addition to the water issue, she directed the removal of encroachments in the area to safeguard legal property rights and ensure proper land use. She highlighted the importance of clearing unauthorized structures and restoring rightful ownership to affected residents.
Furthermore, the DG RDA directed Planning Wing and Land Department RDA to conduct a comprehensive survey of the area. The survey will explore the availability and planning of essential public services and infrastructure, including mosques, graveyards, schools, roads, and hospitals.
The RDA reaffirmed its commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring that all housing schemes comply with planning regulations and provide basic amenities to the residents.
The Additional DG RDA, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Director Building Control Muhammad Samiullah Niazi, other RDA and WASA officers, and 11 representatives from the Gulraiz Housing Scheme attended the meeting.
