RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, the Land Directorate, RDA has initiated legal proceedings against the owners of the private Housing Scheme Bostan Avenue. An FIR has been lodged at the Airport Police Station under the provisions of the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976.
The management of the Bostan Avenue Housing Scheme has continuously failed to comply with the legal requirements mandated by the RDA, including submission of the transfer deed, mortgage deed, and registration documentation. Despite repeated notices and directives from the authority, the scheme owners did not fulfill their legal obligations nor cooperated with the RDA.
Additionally, the housing scheme has violated the approved layout plan, posing a potential threat to the rights and interests of the general public. Due to these violations and non-compliance, the RDA was compelled to take strict legal action to safeguard the rights of citizens and ensure urban planning regulations are enforced.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza has directed that all housing schemes operating under RDA jurisdiction must be legally registered and will only be permitted to function upon completion of all required documentation. RDA is fully committed to protecting the general public interest and will continue to take indiscriminate action against illegal housing schemes.
The RDA urges citizens to verify the legal status of any housing scheme before making investment decisions.
