LAHORE Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the complete schedule for South Africa’s tour of Pakistan later this year, which includes two Tests, three Twenty20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals.

The series will mark the start of Pakistan’s ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign, beginning on 12 October in Lahore.

The opening Test will be staged at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from 12 to 16 October. This will also be the first five-day match to be played at the venue since its extensive renovation to prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The second Test is scheduled for 20 to 24 October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, a venue where Pakistan defeated South Africa 2-0 in their last Test meeting in 2021.

Following the red-ball matches, the teams will contest three T20 Internationals. The first T20I is set for 28 October in Rawalpindi, before the series moves to Lahore for the remaining two fixtures on 31 October and 1 November.

White-ball contests

The white-ball leg of the tour concludes with three ODIs between 4 and 8 November. Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium will host all three matches, marking the return of international 50-over cricket to the ground after 17 years. The venue last staged an ODI on 11 April 2008, when Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed described the return of ODIs to Faisalabad as a “special moment”, highlighting the historical significance of the venue for Pakistan cricket.

The ODI fixtures in Faisalabad are expected to draw significant local interest, given the long absence of top-level international cricket at the ground. The Iqbal Stadium has previously hosted many memorable matches, and its reintroduction as a venue for the South Africa series reflects PCB’s commitment to spreading international cricket across the country.
