Islamabad :Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has asserted that the party’s public committees offer a vital platform for citizens to address their daily challenges. Speaking at a members’ convention in Sarai Alamgir, he urged the public to actively participate in these committees to find solutions to their grievances, especially as they struggle under the weight of current government policies.
Dr. Saleem strongly criticized the government for imposing heavy taxes on fuel, electricity, and gas, while allegedly allowing sugar cartels to operate freely. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami has already attracted large-scale membership across the country, and is now launching public committees at the union council and ward levels to increase political organization and grassroots problem-solving.
The convention was also addressed by key district leaders including Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Gujrat Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood Dhoul Advocate, Rana Muhammad Umar Siddique, Chaudhry Khurram Shahzad Gorala, Dr. Younus Chaudhry, and Dr. Syed Haider Ehsan Shah.
Reaffirming Jamaat-e-Islami’s ideological mission, Dr. Saleem said the party is committed to defending Pakistan’s ideological and geographical frontiers. He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami has consistently responded to national crises without bias, offering services for the betterment of the country and the wider Muslim Ummah.
Lauding the leadership of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Dr. Saleem said that the party is leading efforts to champion the rights of the underprivileged—including the poor, laborers, farmers, and marginalized communities. He condemned the lack of public relief despite falling global oil prices, accusing the ruling elite of hoarding benefits for themselves through free petrol, electricity, and other perks, while ignoring the struggles of the common man.
