Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam on Friday said that Tehran has effectively succeeded in what he described as the regional “war of narratives,” asserting that public opinion across the Middle East—including Pakistan—largely supports Iran’s position.
Speaking during an interactive session with senior journalists and social media activists at the Iranian Cultural Consulate, the ambassador said the Middle East has historically been a focal point of global power competition. However, he maintained that major world powers have failed to undermine Iran’s narrative despite sustained political and media pressure.
Ambassador Moghadam said widespread public support from Pakistan and neighboring countries has played a decisive role in strengthening Iran’s position across the region. He credited regional media, particularly in Pakistan, for what he described as balanced and constructive coverage during recent regional tensions, including the latest 12-day conflict.
Reaffirming Iran’s long-standing policy on Palestine, the envoy said Tehran has consistently supported the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He argued that since the creation of Israel, the world has remained divided between those advocating Palestinian self-determination and those backing Israel.

Addressing the current Middle East crisis, the ambassador said diplomatic efforts were ongoing to ease tensions through dialogue, adding that the chances of a full-scale regional war remain limited at present.
Reflecting on Iran’s past, he recalled the eight-year war imposed on Iran during the era of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, stating that Iran endured the conflict and ultimately emerged resilient. He added that the region has remained under continuous strain for decades due to what he termed Israeli aggression, noting that Iran has developed the capacity to manage prolonged security challenges.
Ambassador Moghadam also accused Western powers of running what he described as a sustained media propaganda campaign against Iran, claiming that misinformation and negative narratives had failed to sway regional public opinion.
Responding to a question, he said Pakistan has supported Iran at various diplomatic forums, including the United Nations, where Islamabad has voted in favor of Tehran on key issues.
Stressing the need for unity among Muslim countries, the ambassador said only collective solidarity could counter common challenges and strengthen the position of Islamic nations globally. He called for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine and urged Islamic countries to actively participate in post-conflict reconstruction and peace-building efforts.
Describing the current global environment as an era of economic warfare, he said major powers are competing aggressively for control over resources. Iran, he added, would not allow any external force to undermine its sovereignty over national wealth, emphasizing that the country’s resources belong to its people.
Highlighting the role of women in Iranian society, Ambassador Moghadam said Iranian women are actively contributing across key sectors, including trade, education, and healthcare, and are playing an increasingly important role in strengthening the national economy.
