Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar congratulated Pakistan during his address at the SCO meeting. He stated that India provided its full support to make the presidency a success.
He noted that the summit comes at a time when global conditions are complex, with ongoing major wars impacting the world significantly.
Jaishankar emphasised that the COVID-19 pandemic devastated developing countries, while climate change has adversely affected economies.
He pointed out that the burden of debt posed a serious challenge to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Furthermore, Jaishankar referred to the SCO Charter’s Article 1 that stressed on strengthening mutual trust, promoting friendship, and acting as good neighbors.
He stressed the need for an honest dialogue by saying “If there is a lack of trust and cooperation, it is essential to address those issues.
