ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has welcomed the launch of direct flights between Tehran and Islamabad, terming it a milestone for boosting bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, ICCI leaders said that the new air link would not only promote tourism and people-to-people connectivity but also enhance trade and business interactions between the two brotherly nations.
The announcement of the direct flight was made earlier by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, who described it as a major step forward in strengthening bilateral relations in the aviation sector.
Congratulating both countries on the development, ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi said the initiative will open new avenues for the business community and private sectors of Pakistan and Iran while providing greater opportunities for travelers.
Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui expressed optimism that the flight would significantly increase tourist exchanges, with more Iranian visitors exploring Pakistan’s scenic landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry added that the air link would further consolidate economic ties, deepen trade relations, and strengthen the brotherly bond that already exists between the two countries.
