Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), South Korea, today to pave the way for transformative institutional, academic, and research collaborations. The visit marked a strategic step forward in strengthening international ties, with both institutions joining hands to explore groundbreaking opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, computing, emerging technologies, capacity building, and digital empowerment for women.
The KOICA delegation comprising Ms. Harim Go (Deputy Country Director), Ms. Dae Yeon Kim (Young Professional/Researcher), and Mr. Abdul Rehman Khan (Manager), was warmly received at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. The high level meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP, T.I), Vice Chancellor of FJWU, alongside senior academic leadership, including Prof. Dr. Azra Yasmeen (Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology), Prof. Dr. Nargis Bibi (Director, Institute of Computer Science and Engineering), and Dr. Hasham (Director, ORIC).
During the session, Prof. Dr. Nargis Bibi presented a comprehensive overview of FJWU’s pioneering role in women’s higher education, spotlighting its academic programs, research contributions, and student accomplishments. She detailed the cutting-edge work at the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering, emphasizing its robust undergraduate and postgraduate computing programs, specialized research, and award-winning student initiatives.
Pitching the vision for a joint future, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza highlighted key strategic focus areas for collaboration, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, computing, emerging tech, joint research, and digital capacity building.

Following the dialogue, the delegation was guided on an immersive tour of the Computer Science Department and campus facilities by Prof. Dr. Nargis Bibi. The KOICA representatives inspected the university’s advanced computing infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence labs, research facilities, and academic resources, expressing deep appreciation for FJWU’s vibrant academic atmosphere. This milestone visit sets the stage for long-term global partnerships, with FJWU and KOICA actively preparing next steps to execute meaningful projects in Artificial Intelligence, research, technological innovation, and female empowerment.
