The Chancery Showcase & Tree Plantation Ceremony, hosted by the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing on April 17, holds profound significance as China and Pakistan celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
Co-organized alongside the Silk Road Cities Alliance, Jinshang Group and WTL Design, the event integrates the exhibition of the renovated embassy chancery, cultural exchanges and a symbolic tree-planting ritual, fully showcasing the vitality and profound connotation of the China-Pakistan friendship.
This was stated by Prof Cheng Xizhong, Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute, a non-governmental Chinese think-tank on diplomacy and international studies based in Beijing.
In his address, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi emphasized that both the chancery renovation and the tree-planting initiative embody renewal, continuity and shared confidence in the future. The upgraded chancery seamlessly blends Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary design, serving as a renewed platform for closer diplomatic interactions and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations. More significantly, this joint tree-planting activity carries far-reaching implications: it reflects the shared understanding that bilateral friendship ought to be deeply rooted, diligently nurtured and sustainably inherited from generation to generation, Prof Cheng said in a statement here on Monday.
