ANF Recovers 76.38 kg of Drugs Worth Rs 14.9 Million in Nationwide Crackdown

14 suspects arrested, including a Nigerian and a woman; narcotics recovered from airports, highways, and educational zones — operations target growing drug trade near colleges and cities.

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducting nine operations across the country, recovered as many as 76.38 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 14.9 million and arrested 14 suspects, including a Nigerian and a woman, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Tuesday.
He informed that 60 grams of heroin and 300 grams of crystal meth (ice) were recovered from the possession of two accused including a woman riding on a motorcycle near a college area, Sailkot.
As many as 100 grams of cocaine were recovered from the possession of a suspect near a university area on Kohat Road, Islamabad.
The arrested confessed to selling drugs to college and university students.
During another operation, 720 grams of cocaine concealed in 40 capsules were recovered from the stomach of a Nigerian national at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore arrived from Bahrain.
As much as 54 kgs of cannabis were recovered from three suspects travelling in a vehicle on the Zero Point highway, Quetta.
Similarly,4.8 kgs of cannabis were seized from two suspects near Khanna Pul, Islamabad. 3.6 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from a suspect at Ring Road, Peshawar.
As many as 3 kgs of cannabis and 5 kgs of ice were recovered from a car at Ravi Toll Plaza Lahore, and two suspects were arrested.
In another operation,2.4 kgs of cannabis were recovered from the possession of a motorcyclist at Khanna Pul, Islamabad.
As many as 2.4 kgs of cannabis were recovered from the possession of a suspect near Tounmi Mor, Dera Ghazi Khan.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are underway.
