London (Report by Shiraz Khan):
During his visit to the United Kingdom, Bishop Lech Koziarski of the Old Catholic Church of Poland met with Maulana Mufti Khalid Mahmood, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam UK London, at his residence. They discussed interfaith harmony, emphasizing that followers of all religions believe in upholding basic human rights, provided such laws do not conflict with the natural order of human creation.
Bishop Koziarski stated that the Church’s role is not only to ensure people’s livelihood and employment but also to bring comfort to their lives. Similarly, mosques must also play their part in alleviating poverty.
On this occasion, Mufti Khalid Mahmood said that Islam is a religion of peace and security for all creatures of the universe. In societies with diverse beliefs, the need for interfaith harmony is crucial, and he expressed his willingness to work towards this goal. He highlighted that people of all faiths need dialogue to bring them closer together, which would make it easier to understand each other’s perspectives.
Islam recognizes all prophets as messengers of Allah, but the chain of prophethood concluded with Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), who was sent as a mercy to all the worlds.
Earlier, the Bishop of Poland was welcomed by renowned political and social figure Altaf Abbasi from Nottingham. Also present on the occasion were former president of the Pakistan Press Club UK, Shiraz Khan, Abdul Majeed Nadeem, Mr. Peter, and others.
